Solidarity in Action: 40 Years of Keeping it Radical!
Grassroots International is thrilled to invite you to celebrate our 40th anniversary! Our in-person celebration will take place on Saturday September 23, 2023 from 3-7 pm at the Museum of Science in Boston, MA, on traditional Massachusett territory.
$250 full price tickets, $100 reduced activist tickets
Ticket pricing includes day-long access to museum exhibits, food, presentations, parking, entertainment, photo booth and camaraderie!
At this special occasion, we will come together in person on the Charles River under the open-air Washburn Pavilion to hear stories of incredible grassroots resistance and visionary movement building for social, economic, and environmental justice. This year, we’ll hear from dynamic youth, feminist, and Indigenous movement leaders from Haiti, Palestine, and Honduras.
Join us in welcoming the following confirmed presenters (among others) to our 40th Celebration Event!
Dania Patricia Hernandez is the Director of the Community Work Team of the Consejo Cívico de Organizaciones Populares e Indígenas de Honduras (Civic Council of Popular and Indigenous Organizations of Honduras, COPINH). The COPINH Community Work team is in charge of monitoring, training and organizing the indigenous communities of the Lenca people.
Camilo Bermúdez is the Director of Strategic Litigation and Management of COPINH. His work focuses on the development of justice processes for Berta Cáceres and the Lenca People. He promotes international solidarity with Honduras and Indigenous communities.
Cornelius Blanding is the Executive Director of the Federation of Southern Cooperatives/Land Assistance Fund. Born out of the Civil Rights movement, the Federation is a regional cooperative and rural economic development organization serving a membership of Black farmers, landowners, cooperatives, and other low-income rural people in the US South with coop development, land retention, and advocacy.
Juslene Tyresias is the Coordinator of the Economic Committee and member of the Executive Committee of the Mouvman Peyizan Papay (Papaye Peasant Movement, MPP). Formed in 1973, the Peasant Movement of Papaye (MPP) is the oldest and among the most important local peasant movements in Haiti. |
Together with our U.S. and international supporters, partners, and allies, we will break bread and build community while honoring those who sacrifice so much to bring about a world in which sustainable and equitable relationships exist between people and with the Earth and all its living systems.
Mark your calendars now! For those unable to join us in person, please consider a donation to continue our work and stay tuned for upcoming opportunities to celebrate with us virtually.
Refunds are available up to 60 days after ticket purchase, and at least 10 days prior to the event. Substitutions are always welcome. Otherwise, your purchase will be gratefully received as a donation to advance our work. Thank you.
